The Birch Island Boardwalk is off to a great start. With just nearly 100 meters of railed boardwalk constructed this September, along with a viewing deck overlooking the creek.

A controlled-access entrance was designed for the boardwalk to accomodate wheelchair and stroller access, while restricting motorized vehicles.

Phase One was intented to extend nearly half of a kilometer and include the construction of an outdoor classroom. It was necessary to scale back this plan to work with available funds for 2015.

Construction of Phase Two is set to begin in late Spring of 2016.

A new sign marks the official start of ground work at Birch Island. Thank-you to all the sponsors and supporters that are helping to make this possible!
